Pine Hill Records announce new Down By Law release "Redoubt" and Tour Dates

Pine Hill Records is an American record label based out of New Hampshire, owned and operated by Tino Valpa of The Cryptics and Battalion Of Saints. Formed in 2013, the label is nearing its 30th release and has put out material from artists like Battalion Of Saints and The Queers to more unexpected ground like 1950’s Jazz great Sol Yaged. Whereas the label is rooted in punk and hardcore, it has not ceased to push boundaries with releases in genres like post-punk, new wave, surf, and jazz. Valpa’s diverse taste has led the label to evolve into something more than the average punk label. The strong values that exist in punk rock will forever remain the label’s foundation as it continues its artistic journey to connect artist to fan: all-one musical heart and soul.

Speaking of values [and some damn good punk rock], Pine Hill Records is happy to welcome SoCal punk veterans Down By Law with the release of their brand new 10” vinyl EP “Redoubt.” The band was formed in 1989 by vocalist Dave Smalley (formerly of ALL, Dag Nasty, DYS). They kicked off their career with 5 studio albums and several EP’s on Epitaph Records followed by other releases on Go-Kart, Theologian, and Cleopatra Records. 30 years and 11 albums later, the band is showing no signs of slowing down. “Redoubt” portrays the band’s signature melodic punk rock sound with sprinkles of new flavor in tracks like “For Your Eyes Only”, with an almost surfy hint to it. Or the more dissonant downtuned track “Boring Things”, written and sung by guitarist Sam Williams. The EP features vibrant artwork by Austrian artist Stefan Beham [Sum 41, The Offspring, The Lillingtons] and mastering by Dean Baltulonis [Agnostic Front, Madball, Sick Of It All, The Hold Steady, The Casualties]. 500 copies pressed.
