New Album WRONG Out Now on Fantôme Records
On their first English-titled album, WRONG, We Are Wolves unashamedly shows off its pop side, that until now we’ve had little more than a whiff of. Rock solid thanks to a flawless career spanning fifteen years, the band are more confident than ever and have been rewarded by a success that mocks their critics.
WRONG is a fundamentally positive album that sees the Wolves explore new hunting grounds, revealing a more mature band very much at the height of its powers with the two singles Wicked Games and I Don’t Mind (#4 on CBC Radio 3 top 30 songs this week) enjoying critical acclaim. Since the album premiered on Brooklyn Vegan in September, the band have toured Germany, performed at the legendary Reeperbahn festival, and have been playing to packed houses across their home province of Quebec. Now they’re hitting Toronto for one night only!
"The band have always been an intriguing mix of influences, with a gothy, distinctly Franco-Canadian image that belies the band’s ability to deliver dance grooves and big poppy hooks". Brooklyn Vegan
"The Montreal trio drops off a timeless electronic post-punk groove that can't be pegged to a time or place". Chart Attack
"After 15 years together, this Montreal band aren’t just surviving, they’re thriving". FYI Music News
"WRONG sees the trio show off their penchant for the edgy pop of bands like Depeche Mode, New Order, Ultravox and The Cure, without losing the bite that has defined their sound". Crave Magazine
"Drawing from disco and alt-pop simultaneously in a way that’s reminiscent of of Montreal, We Are Wolves have embarked on a new musical path, one that will be continued when they release their new LP, WRONG." All Things Go
"WRONG is a fundamentally positive album that sees the Wolves explore new hunting grounds, revealing a more mature band very much at the height of its powers". Spill Magazine
"We Are Wolves have incorporated pop into their sound but haven’t sold out; retaining their
older elements of punk and heavy usage of electric guitar, We Are Wolves have created a perfect combination". Confront Magazine
"WRONG is a clear example as to why We Are Wolves have become a big deal in the world of indie rock". Canadian Beats
‘"WRONG impresses with a series of seriously memorable songs". Cult Montreal
