International cult Bluesman, harmonica & beat-box maverick Son of Dave is coming back to his native home for a ten show tour this August and September, and packing a new album (his seventh!). It’s a guaranteed fantastic funky modern blues party every time. He’s one of a kind, whipping up a rhythm with shakers, stomping, and beats de la bouche, laying down a hypnotic harmonica riff, then belting out a powerful song overtop. He’s played well over a thousand shows over five continents. His tracks have appeared on Breaking Bad and Preacher. He has a radio show on Soho Radio, London UK (where’s he’s been based for 20 years). His adventures and columns from a UK rock&roll magazine were compiled into a book. Grace Jones hired him to play her private party, he’s appeared on telly playing harmonica for Cyndi Lauper… He has a resume as long as yer arm basically. Oh yeah, he was also in Crash Test Dummies. This new album, “Son of Dave plays 13 EXPLOSIVE HITS by other artists” is a collection of cover tunes, packaged up like the old K-Tel Super Hits compilations from the 1970's. It’s a mad selection of songs to cover, spanning a century of music and jammed with different genres, covered in Son of Dave’s entirely unique way. From Daft Punk, to Leadbelly, to AC/DC, Son of Dave tackles various genres in the album, and makes each and every track sound naturally his own. giving it his tough harmonica and beatbox treatment and growling, loving vocals. The album gives the listener the popular songs they know already, belted out from the old cult bluesman' s gut. Connoisseurs of cover songs will rejoice with tunes by Paloma Faith, War, The Bar-Keys and John Lee Hooker. Even Pump Up The Jam is dragged onto the dance floor again.
