Quick and the Dead
Quick and the Dead is a music project formed in 2015 by Justin Marler in Austin, TX. , founding member of seminal doom metal band SLEEP is releasing a record to raise funds and awareness for Syrian refugee crisis.
The Darkest Hour is one track off the album Hymns for the Apocalypse, to be released in November 26th 2015. The songs are traditional gospel hymns converted into high-energy punk. Some of the hymns selected were originally popularized by music legends Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash.
Engineered and produced by Matt Oliver (The Get up Kids and Dashboard Confessional) and mixed by Grammy award winner Stuart Sikes (The White Stripes and Riverboat Gamblers). The end result is a sucker punch of fast, loud, melodic and surprisingly fun music that confronts the dark side of the human condition with hope, love, and redemption.
Quick and the Dead will donate all the proceeds from 'Hymns for the Apocalypse' iTunes and CD sales to go to relief organizations in Syria who help all suffering and displaced persons regardless of race, religion or nationality.
