Fat Wrecked for 25 Years!
It's been 25 years since NOFX bassist Fat Mike and then-wife Erin Burkett started up their iconic pop punk imprint, Fat Wreck Chords. Hundreds of releases later, Fat Mike is now bringing a few heavy hitters from the roster around North America for a celebratory tour appropriately named "Fat Wrecked for 25 Years."
Fat announced the package tour confirming that NOFX will be playing. Also on the tour will be Lagwagon (the first band to issue an LP on Fat Wreck Chords), as well as Swingin' Utters, Flatliners, Masked Intruder and ToyGuitar. More bands are expected to appear as special guests throughout the tour. Who would have thought that something that started all those years ago in Mike and Erin's kitchen would still be around today?. Fat Mike weighed in on the 25 year milestone- "We've been through weddings and divorces, births and deaths, rehabs and reintoxications, and we are still pumping out some of the most influential punk rock around. After 25 years, we think we've earned the right to throw a proper party and celebrate the fact that we are old!" The tour kicks off at Toronto's Echo Beach on August 6, with the acts then heading out for a weekend of performances at Heavy Montreal. Following the Canadian dates, they all head down for a series of U.S. concert appearances. Fat Wreck Chords' first release was a 1990 reissue of NOFX's The PMRC Can Suck on This 7-inch. Recent releases include Good Riddance's Peace in Our Time, Fat Mike's Home Street Home musical, and Swingin' Utters member Darius Koski's solo debut, Sisu.
To cap it off there will be a massive two-day blowout festival in San Francisco, more details TBA.
