RED FANG to Headline Mud City Music Festival


Moncton, NB - The Mud City Music Festival is excited to announce its 5thedition will take place October 1st to 5th throughout downtown Moncton, with stoner rock giants, RED FANG, to headline! RED FANG have more than made a name for themselves on the live circuit. Over the years, they've toured with prominent artists such as Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Helmet, Opeth and Crowbar, and have appeared at major festivals including Hellfest, Rockstar Mayhem Fest, Wacken, Roadburn, and many others. In their travels, the Portland outfit have performed across the globe, from North America and South America to Europe, Russia, Australia, and now for the first time, Moncton, NB!

The whole Mud City crew is stoked for this year’s lineup which will also include Canadian music icon, Ian Blurton, fresh off his latest release of ‘Signals Through the Flames’; Rich Aucoin, also presenting his latest album release at the festival; Hollerado, on the road with their ‘One Last Time’ tour; as well as, Montreal outfit Atsuko Chiba, mixing sounds of post-rock, prog, hip hop and experimental for an incredible live show. After the success of last year’s surf rock dance party, the Festival is also thrilled to be partnering with the Aberdeen Cultural Centre once again to bring in the Juno award winning instrumental rock band, Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, better known for their performance of the ‘Kids in the Hall’ theme song. Also featured this year are some of the best acts the region has to offer with Zuku, Adam Baldwin, Les Paiens, John Jerome & the Congregation, Tampa, Which Witch is Which, Roxy & the Underground Soul Sound, Diner Drugs, Nebullama, Julie Aubé, Mike Trask, Little You Little Me, Frig Dancer, Amy Stone & the Veneers, 3 Bruthas and more TBA. The festival program will also feature a very special edition of the cultural phenomenon that is the Pink Flamingo Variety Show, as well as a feature performance from the Greater Moncton Girls+ Rock Camp.

Now taking place in the fall, the Festival will once again take over their favorite venues like the Tide and Boar, The Caveau and The Aberdeen Cultural Centre. Mud City is also thrilled to introduce a new addition to the fold with the Pink Flamingos Cabaret/Lounge! The newest addition to Moncton’s show venues, the club offers diverse entertainment and a safe space for all, which will fit perfectly in the Festival’s ever eclectic programming. “We’ve been dreaming of hosting shows here for a while and we think the programming will intrigue both current fans of the venue, as well as new club goers” says Festival Manager Xavier Léger. Keeping with tradition, Mud City is also working with the City of Moncton, downtown Moncton and local businesses to present a free show series with pop-up shows in non-traditional spaces, including a Festival Block Party at Downtown Place (outside the Avenir Centre) which will feature live music, local vendors, a beer garden, games and activities for fans of all ages!
