Teenage Bottlerocket's new record "Tales From Wyoming" comes out on March 31st!
Teenage Bottlerocket have been gaining steam for a few years and it will all culminate with the release of Tales From Wyoming, which comes out March 31st on Rise Records. The band formed in Laramie, Wyoming, and was immediately snatched up by indie-punk label, Red Scare Industries. It wasn't long before Fat Wreck Chords got on board and did a couple LPs with TBR. The next move was clear, they were ready to step up to Rise Records. Frontman Ray Carlisle said it best, "Rise Records has been working hard and kicking ass for many years now. The label and the band are both excited about this next project!" It's a sinister and ominous album title, but you can bet that Tales From Wyoming is some of the most energetic and likable pop-punk you'll hear in 2015.
While all their previous albums were recorded at the esteemed Blasting Room (Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, Lemonheads) in Colorado, this is the first time they ever called upon Bill Stevenson (Descendents, Black Flag) to produce one of their records. When asked about the first time collaborating with Bill, Ray says it was, "Something we've always wanted to do. He had great suggestions on arrangements and he really pushed our vocals. The dude's a legend." Teenage Bottlerocket shows signs of growth with each new record, adding some bells and whistles to the production, fresh and inventive melodies, new lyrical themes, etc. But you always know a TBR album when you hear it: undeniable hooks, buzzsaw guitars, fun lyrics, and aggressive drums paired with a bouncy bass that would make Dee Dee Ramone proud. And that's exactly what you can expect out of Tales From Wyoming: time-tested punk dynamos taking a proven recipe and adding fresh ingredients to make some truly infectious and fun music. 14 new pop-punk gems like, "Cockroach Strikes Again". Hell, even the song titles sound like a good time! The band is also set to hit the road and hit it hard in support of the new album. They've got a tour with Pennywise planned in March, then it's off to Europe for festivals and some shows with their buds, Masked Intruder. You can expect to hear a lot from Teenage Bottlerocket in 2015, and you can expect to hear plenty of grisly screams resulting from the... Tales From Wyoming!
